The CDA and the Metro Denver Dental Society (MDDS) hosted National Signing Day for fourth year dental students and international students from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine at the Mountain West Dental Institute in Denver. Dr. Lindsay Compton, CDA New Dentist Committee chair; Dr. Brian Gurinsky, secretary of MDDS; Greg Hill, CDA executive director; and Elizabeth Price, MDDS executive director touted the value of the power of three–the ADA, CDA and local component societies.
MDDS provided Starbucks cards to all students who filled out membership applications, and the CDA provided a burrito lunch in honor of Cinco de Mayo. In total, 71 dental students committed to joining the ADA. Just over 100 membership applications were collected and, of those, 42 plan to remain in Colorado to further their education or begin practicing, 27 will be joining upon graduation in December and 33 will be joining the military or moving out of state.
