Compliance Required by June 2023
In December 2022, Congress passed the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act. MATE requires prescribers of controlled substances, including dentists, to complete eight hours of one-time training on safely prescribing controlled substances in order to receive or renew their registration with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). This goes into effect on June 27, 2023. If your renewal date is after June 27, 2023, you will need to have these training hours completed.
