Please mark your calendar and RSVP for the CDA’s Dentists at the Capitol Lobby Day on Friday, February 17. Event details follow.

Tentative Schedule:

10:00 a.m.     Registration and message training for dentists
10:30 a.m.     Observe floor activity, meet legislators without constituents attending
11:00 a.m.     Scheduled meetings with legislators
1:00 p.m.       Optional Capitol tour

Issues:
In 2014, the dental profession will undergo a complete revision to the laws that govern dentistry. This process, called a sunset review, can dramatically impact dentists through changes to state board composition, scope of practice allowances, practice ownership requirements, educational requirements and more. It is vital that we lay the groundwork for this process in advance, building relationships with legislators now.

In addition, in 2012 the CDA will be working on a bill to increase efficiency of Medicaid  through offering dental benefits to pregnant mothers. Educating pregnant mothers and treating their dental disease can greatly reduce system-wide costs by eliminating unnecessary emergency room visits and preventing early transmission of oral bacteria, resulting in less costly treatment for the child during his/her early years.

Lunch:
Box lunches will be provided for dentists and legislators.

Parking/Transportation:
Group transportation is available from the CDA or CU School of Dental Medicine upon request (please note your request during the RSVP process). There are also paid and street parking available near the Capitol building (200 East Colfax Avenue, Denver, CO 80203-1776).

RSVP:
Please RSVP by February 1 to allow the CDA sufficient time to notify your legislators of your attendance. Click here to RSVP.

We look forward to seeing you on February 17!
