Position Summary:
Kids In Need of Dentistry (KIND) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our innovative Chopper Topper school-based oral health program. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing essential preventive dental care and oral health education to children across Colorado.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver preventive services including dental screenings, fluoride treatments, sealant applications, and retention checks
- Capture intraoral images for documentation, education, and referrals
- Collaborate closely with school nurses and community dental health coordinators to identify and support students in need of care
- Refer patients for early or urgent treatment to KIND clinics or partner dental homes
- Ensure proper maintenance and transport of mobile dental equipment between school sites
- Engage in community outreach events and support dental hygiene students as a preceptor (as applicable)
- Provide oral health education through classroom presentations, one-on-one interactions, and school events
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and infection control standards
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA-accredited institution
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a practicing dental hygienist
- Current Colorado RDH license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and valid driver’s license
- Eligible for or currently credentialed with Medicaid and CHP+
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Bilingual proficiency is highly valued
Technology Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Experience with dental software such as Ascend and Dentrix
Pay, Perks & Benefits:
- $48–$50/hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications
- 25-39 hours weekly depending on what applicant prefers
