The insurance industry is well known as one of the most aggressive lobby groups in politics. They have been hard at work in Colorado fighting HB 1144, the bill that would stop dental insurers from dictating fees for non covered services. This morning they had 6 lobbyists at the Capitol fighting HB 1144. They are a difficult force to beat – and we need every Colorado dentist to get involved if we are to win the debate on this bill!
Tomorrow, representatives will place their final vote on HB 1144. Following today’s animated floor fight on the bill, legislators need to be reminded how important this bill is to your patients and your practice. They are facing tremendous pressure from the insurers and hearing misinformation about the bill. We need your help in reinforcing the facts.
Time is of essence. Please take a few minutes to call your legislator to reinforce the important messages about this bill. Calling is an extremely effective tool because it provides a personal touch. We provide phone numbers and talking points online to guide you through your conversation, and give you an opportunity to give us feedback about the legislator’s response. If you don’t get through to them immediately, just leave a message with a couple key points and a request for their support.
