By law, the state legislature is limited to 120-day sessions, which means that the state House and Senate must adjourn by midnight on Wednesday, May 12 this year. The legislature is still considering a number of substantial bills – ranging from education to senior tax breaks. The full agenda means late nights and early mornings for legislators. The session not expected to adjourn early this year, as has frequently been done in the recent past.
As the session wraps up, the CDA will be distributing flyers around the Capitol – asking legislators to mark their calendars to attend the 4th annual COMOM in Colorado Springs this October. Part of COMOM’s mission is to help raise awareness of the dental needs of Coloradans and to promote public policy to improve oral health. Having legislators attend the event is a key part of fulfilling this mission.
