The Colorado Dental Board scheduled a follow up rulemaking hearing on the anesthesia rules for Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. at 1560 Broadway, Denver, CO 80202 (Conference Room 110D). The final rule draft may be viewed here. There will be an opportunity to provide testimony and/or written comments on the proposed rules during this formal rulemaking hearing.
The primary areas of contention in the anesthesia rule draft appear to be related to the pediatric designation for minimal sedation, capnography requirements for moderate sedation and deep sedation/general anesthesia and prohibiting individual drugs by name. Interested dentists are encouraged to attend the Feb. 25 hearing to provide input to the State Board.
