Today was Give Kids a Smile Day, where dentists across the state volunteer their time and offices to treat children who might not otherwise have access to dental care. This is a critical program. Programs like this improve access to care. They also tangibly demonstrate to legislators and the public how much dentists care and how much they give back to their communities. We sent invited a number of legislators to attend Give Kids a Smile day. Due to legislative commitments at this time of year, attendance is difficult for legislators. Yet, awareness of these events continues to increase among policymakers.
