Stakeholder Meeting: Silver Diamine Fluoride Rulemaking

Molly PereiraFeatured News

With the passage of HB18-1045, dental hygienists in Colorado have gained the ability to deliver silver diamine fluoride (SDF) treatments to patients in cooperation with a dentist. Prior to the passage of this bill, the Colorado Dental Board had considered SDF to be outside the scope of dental hygiene practice.

As part of the implementation of HB18-1045, the Colorado Dental Board will hold a stakeholder meeting May 10 to collect input on a draft, new Rule XXVI Application of Silver Diamine Fluoride by Dental Hygienists. The rule draft hasn’t been published yet, but it will be posted on the Colorado Dental Board website once it’s available.

The stakeholder meeting wil be held Thursday, May 10, 2018, at noon, at 1560 Broadway, Room 1250 A in Denver. If you cannot attend the meeting in person, you may attend via webinar. If you have questions, email dora_dentalboard@state.co.us.
