The Colorado Dental Board recently published the final rules that will be considered at the upcoming rulemaking hearing on Sunset Review rule changes. The final rule draft may be viewed here.There will be an opportunity to provide testimony and/or written comments on the proposed rules during the formal rulemaking hearing, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. at 1560 Broadway, Denver, CO 80202 (Conference Room 1250C).
The primary areas of contention in the rule draft appear to be related to the pediatric designation for minimal sedation, capnography requirements for moderate sedation and deep sedation/general anesthesia, and prohibiting individual drugs by name in the anesthesia rules. Interested dentists are encouraged to attend the hearing and provide input to the State Board on Jan. 22.
