The Colorado Dental Board has adopted revisions to the BLS/CPR requirements in Rule III and the supervision requirements for application of Silver Diamine Fluoride by dental hygienists in Rule XXVI. The CDA has supported these changes and actively engaged throughout the legislative and rulemaking processes. The adopted changes to Rule XXVI ensure full alignment with legislative intent regarding the level of supervision required for the SDF procedure delivered by dental hygienists. The updated rules ensure timely care safety while deterring unnecessary administrative burden associated with the SDF procedure.
