On Oct. 13, Dr. Ken Versman, a CDA past president and periodontist in Aurora, Colo., was elected as the new American Dental Association Second Vice President. Dr. Versman was elected at the ADA House of Delegates meeting in Las Vegas, NV in conjunction with the ADA Annual Session.
For the last four years, Dr. Versman has served as the ADA’s 14th District Trustee, representing the states of Colorado, Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
As the ADA Second Vice President, he will assist the ADA president as requested, while serving as an ex officio member of the ADA House of Delegates and the ADA Board of Trustees.
Dr. Versman received his dental degree from the University of Illinois and his certificate and masters degree in periodontology from the University of Iowa. He is currently in full-time private practice with his partner of 20 years, Dr. Doug Heller.
He was president of the CDA in 2004/2005 and has served on the Colorado State Board of Dental Examiners. He was on the original board of the Dentists Professional Liability Trust of Colorado. At the ADA, he chaired the Joint Committee on International Accreditation, the Diversity Committee and the Future of ADABEI Committee.
Dr. Versman is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and a fellow in the International College of Dentists, American College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the Academy of Osseointegration. He has been married to his wife, Linda, for 37 years, and they have 2 daughters, Rebecca and Allison.
