On Dec. 4, as part of the NBA Season of Giving, the Denver Nuggets partnered with TeamSmile to host a free dental care clinic for children in need in the Denver community. TeamSmile provided free oral health assessments, dental treatment and dental instruction to over 120 low-income children.
The goal of this program is to provide dental services to children in a fun and non-threatening environment in the hopes of educating them on the significance of good oral health. The children came from the Boys and Girls Club, the Salvation Army and other local organizations that are affiliated with the Denver Nuggets.
TeamSmile was established five years ago and is a non-profit organization that has created partnerships with professional/collegiate teams, local dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and dental organizations like Henry Schein Cares, Dexis, Dentrix, Colgate, and Midmark. TeamSmile’s main goal is to help promote the importance of dental care now and in the future.
