The CDA was recently informed that Silverthorne, Colo. may be stopping community water fluoridation next year.  The town has been fluoridating since 1981 and serves a population of 3,520 in Summit County.  The decision process is still in very early stages, and the local public health department will be contacting the water department and town council.  If you have a patient who lives in Silverthorne, please consider making them aware of the benefits of fluoridated water.  As more information becomes available in 2013, including the need for public comment, the CDA will provide additional correspondence.
