The Colorado Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (CAPD) has created a program to make it easier for dentists and hygienists in dental health professional shortage areas to communicate with a pediatric dentist. This program is called Pedo Connect. The goal of this program is to ensure that all children in Colorado, no matter of their location, have access to oral healthcare.
This will be done by matching dental health providers in dental health professional shortage areas with a CAPD member. This relationship will enable the provider to ask questions relating to their pediatric patients. Furthermore, the CAPD member can facilitate a referral to a pediatric dentist when indicated and can help identify the closest/most convenient office to refer the patient. If you would like to be a part of this program, please e-mail pedoconnect@coapd.org. The CAPD looks forward to working with providers in health professional shortage areas to increase access to quality dental care for all children in Colorado.
