CDA Hires New Executive Director Dr. Quinn Dufurrena

The CDA is pleased to announce its new executive director: Quinn Dufurrena, D.D.S., J.D.  Quinn comes to the CDA from Idaho, where he was the executive director of the Idaho Dental Association.  He has over 27 years of experience in government, private practice and non-profit sectors.

QuinnDufurrenaAs a dual degree professional, Quinn received his D.D.S. from the University of the Pacific in 1983 and his J.D. from Concord Law School in 2008.  He owned a rural practice from 1983-1986 before joining the U.S. Navy Dental Corps from 1986-1990, where he was stationed in Edzell, Scotland as the U.S./British liaison dental officer.

From 1990-2007 he practiced as a general dentist in northern Nevada.  During that time he also was an associate professor, teaching fixed prosthodontics and operative dentistry at Oregon’s dental school in Portland.

Quinn worked with the ADA chief policy adviser from 2007-2008 as a Hillenbrand Fellow.  Awarded every other year, the Hillenbrand Fellowship is designed to introduce practicing dentists to national career paths in health policy leadership and management, including academic courses and project experience.

The CDA welcomes Quinn to Colorado and looks forward to his arrival in January 2011.
