The state of Colorado currently has $3M of grant funding available for organizations and providers who provide dental care to seniors eligible for Old Age Pension (OAP) assistance. The deadline to apply for the grant funding is Oct. 15, 2012. The grant funding will be most applicable to clinics, organizations and dental providers that routinely provide charitable or reduced cost care to OAP seniors, as the maximum allowable fees and procedures under the program are currently very limited. Grant funding through the OAP Dental Program must be used to treat individuals 60 years or older, who live in Colorado and receive OAP public assistance from the state of Colorado. While the fee schedule for this program is limited, it can provide some benefit to organizations and providers who routinely provide free care to this population, and perhaps allow some modest expansion to the number of patients served.
If you are interested in applying for grant funds to help deliver care to the OAP senior population, please click here for a copy of the application guidelines and review the Request for Application documents that are available under the “Old Age Pension Program” link on the state’s Oral Health unit Webpage.
