Your office manager is most likely a vital key to the successful day-to-day operation of your practice.  This individual not only helps manage staff but also helps to oversee your business.  This is a person who you mostly likely value and whose skills you want to grow.  The Colorado Dental Manager’s Association (CDMA), an organization separate from the CDA, was established to do just that.

Initiated by a group of individuals with diverse backgrounds including dentistry, management, insurance and finance, this association has attracted the attention of dental office managers from across the state.  What started a year ago with just seven attendees at the first meeting, has grown to over 40 members who are fostering relationships with their colleagues and taking part in educational seminars to boost their skills.

This non-profit association is dedicated to dental office managers by providing an environment for education, networking, support and mentorship in a “workshop” environment for implementing new ideas and skills.  Its objective is to help office managers prepare for the challenges of building, managing and maintaining a productive dental practice in today’s demanding market.

What does the CDMA offer?
• Keynote speakers presenting and training on a variety of topics relevant to the manager’s position
• “Hands-on” leadership and team building exercises
• Coaching skills workshops
• Interactive “round table” discussions
• Mentorship and networking
• Friendship
• A “common ground”

How often do they meet?
Six times a year, every other month, with the next meeting coming up on Friday, June 10 at the
Courtyard by Marriott
1475 S. Colorado Blvd.
Denver, CO 80222

CDMA is working in partnering with Henry Schein Dental to offer a multi-part educational business series: “From Hiring to Termination – Mastering the Process.”  Part One is on June 17 and covers comprehensive risk management – helping attendees navigate the legal and personnel challenges of a business owner.  This course is open to dentists as well as office managers and team members. How do I sign-up for my office manager?
CDMA annual dues are $150 and are tax deductable, or office managers can attend individual sessions, which are $45 per meeting.
