The Colorado Dental Board will have at least two vacant provider positions available as of January 2021. Gov. Jared Polis will appoint one new dentist and one new dental hygienist to fill these vacant positions (and is expected to reappoint several existing Dental Board members to serve eligible second terms). Each new appointment will be for a four-year term (with the potential for a second four-year renewal). The commitment to serve on the state board includes participation in a quarterly full board meeting, a monthly panel and additional committee meetings throughout the year.
Applications from interested general dentists, prosthodontists and periodontists, as well as from candidates who can contribute to the gender, ethnic and geographic diversity of the board are encouraged. If you have applied for a state board position in the past two years, your application should be on file, so you should not need to resubmit it.
If you do not know your legislative districts when completing the application, enter your home address at https://leg.colorado.gov/find-my-legislator to find information on your legislators. Under the “explanation of interest” section, note anything that would set you apart from other applicants, such as location of your practice (rural or underserved areas) or specialty.
Submit your application (https://www.colorado.gov/governor/boards-commissions-application) to the state as soon as possible. Please email molly@cdaonline.org to let the CDA know you have submitted an application.
