This learning opportunity is provided by the CDA in partnership with the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention\, Colorado Medical Society\, CU Anschutz Campus and North Colorado Health Alliance. \nColorado Opioid Epidemic Symposium: Safe Opioid Prescribing for Dental Providers \nPresented by: Don Teater\, M.D.\, M.P.H.\, Pain and Addiction Specialist at Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium \nLearning Objectives: \n\nReview local and national data on opioid prescribing patterns.\nExplain the link between opioids and the neurobiology of addiction.\nFormulate a patient treatment plan that optimizes non-opioid pharmacologic treatment and non-pharmacologic supports for the treatment of acute dental pain.\nExplain Academic Detailing as an effective educational modality to reduce unsafe opioid prescribing.\n\nREGISTER HERE!\nCE Credit: 1 CE\nThe CDA designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 CERP Credit.
