SUMMARY:Practice Management Panel: Helping New Dentists Become Great Leaders in their Office
DESCRIPTION:May 25\, 6:00-8:00 p.m. \nDuring the first few years out of school\, you are often so focused on case acceptance\, treatment planning\, and staying on time\, that you don’t always have the time to learn how to run\, own or operate a dental practice. The CDA New Dentist Committee (NDC) has selected a few successful practice owners and non-owners from around the state to sit on a panel at our next Crowns and Cocktails Event to help guide you in your career moving forward. This discussion-based event will provide an opportunity to learn from the panelists about what it takes to lead a highly productive practice and effective dental team. Ask questions of panelists relating to practice ownership or management that you can turn into practical and innovative strategies to increase productivity\, enrich the work environment and create a positive patient experience. \nMeet the Panelists: \nDr. Lindsay Compton attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where she held various leadership positions within her class\, the school\, and national student organizations. She won major research competitions and was published in the Journal of Dental Research. After dental school\, Dr. Compton joined the general practice residency program at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City\, MO. where she gained experience in sedation dentistry and provided care to developmentally disabled patients\, elderly patients\, and pediatric patients. Dr. Compton is active in the Spear Study Club and International Partnership for Occlusion Study Club. Dr. Compton is the incoming CDA President. \nDr. Melissa Goodpaster went to dental school at Creighton University where she made the Dean’s List six out of her eight semesters.
