Paying Your Dues Just Got a Whole Lot Easier With Online Dues Renewal

Beginning with the 2016 dues cycle, the CDA will be offering a new preferred method of paying your dues online. For the new method to work best, it is imperative that the CDA has individual email addresses for each member dentist and that the email on file is one that you read. CU School of Dental Medicine Needs Volunteers

The CU School of Dental Medicine needs you to volunteer at its Aurora, Colo., clinic for the 2016 Give Kids a Smile Day, which will take place on Friday, Feb. 5, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The CU School of Dental Medicine and the CDA supply the patients, the instruments and the third-year dental students to assist you. Consider volunteering to help treat deserving kids and, at the same time, mentor CU dental students.

Nationally, 14% of our 6-12-year-old children are likely to have suffered from a toothache in the last six months. Preventive measures such as dental sealants only reach a fraction of children, while the lifetime cost of a decayed permanent molar ranges from $2,187 to $6,105. At the same time, fewer adults are seeking dental care and more young adults are using the emergency room for dental treatment. It is widely recognized that children need to be reached before dental problems become painful or chronic. Efforts to address this need meet many barriers.
