Countdown to COMOM 25 Days
Patient Information

COMOM

The Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM) is a large-scale dental clinic where dental treatment is provided at no cost to individuals who cannot afford dental care.   In order to minimize patient waiting time, the Colorado Springs COMOM will have patients obtain an appointment voucher prior to arriving at the dental clinic.

  • You do not have a regular dentist
  • You are not covered by Medicaid, CHP+, or dental insurance
Adults and children are welcome at COMOM.

COMOM will be held on Oct. 1-2, 2010

COMOM will be held at:
Phil Long Expo Center
1515 Auto Mall Loop
Colorado Springs, CO 80920

Patients who attend the Colorado Springs COMOM must have an appointment voucher, and must arrive at the Expo Center on their designated day and at their designated time.

COMOM is striving to minimize the wait times for patients and eliminate the long hours each patient would need to wait in line.  In contrast to the previous three dental clinics, COMOM must abide by the following rules set by the Expo Center:

 • No individuals will have access to the Expo Center parking lot without a patient voucher.

 • No individuals will be allowed to camp overnight.

 • No individuals will be allowed to wait in line overnight for treatment.

 • No individuals will be allowed to park their vehicles overnight.

• Appointments will be made prior to the dental clinic.  Once at the clinic, you will meet with a nurse and a dentist for an initial evaluation, and have your dental needs prioritized.
• As dentists and dental hygienists become available, you will be taken to areas of the dental clinic for dental treatment.
• The dental services provided at COMOM include cleanings, fillings, some root canal treatments, temporary dental appliances and extractions.
• During the dental clinic you will be provided with instruction on how to care for your teeth.
• Upon completing your dental care, you will be asked to participate in an exit interview.
• Bilingual volunteers will be available throughout the clinic to assist non-English speaking patients.

What to Bring:
Patients will be waiting for their turn to meet with the dentists and dental hygienists.  It’s a good idea to bring things such as books, magazines, crossword puzzles, or knitting to help pass the time.  PLEASE also bring water, food and snacks.  Onsite food will be limited.
