COMOM Resources for Legislators
Thank you for your interest in the 2012 COMOM.
Please mark your calendar and take an hour on Friday, Sept. 28 or Saturday, Sept. 29 to come see first-hand the positive impact this free dental clinic makes in the lives of Coloradans. COMOM provides an excellent forum for legislators and public officials to meet with a diverse group of constituents, gather input on healthcare policy and recognize those who often get left behind in the healthcare equation.
at the Colorado State Fairgrounds in Pueblo, CO.
We provide VIP event tours to public officials, as well as media opportunities and interaction with patients as desired. We recommend a mid morning tour; however, we are on site from 5am until at least 5pm both days and are happy to accommodate you at any time.
If you plan to attend the event, you can access directions and parking information here. Once you have arrived on site, please call Jennifer Goodrum at 303-999-6553 (cell) to coordinate your event tour. Please check this site prior to traveling to the event for any updates.
RSVP to Attend COMOM
RSVPs are appreciated for scheduling purposes but not required. Contact Jennifer Goodrum, CDA Director of Governmental Relations at firstname.lastname@example.org or 303-996-2847 to RSVP or with any questions.
Seeing a growing need for access to basic dental care, the Colorado Dental Association and its dentists organized an annual volunteer program to offer help: the Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM). COMOM is a portable, 100-chair dental clinic set up in a large public arena that provides free dental screenings and treatment to children and adults. Through past events, COMOM treated almost 7,000 patients and provided over $4.5 million in free care. Patients from all areas of Colorado attend and benefit from this free clinic.
Constituent Outreach and Involvement
If you have constituents that meet the criteria to attend COMOM (see “who should come to COMOM” and “what to expect”), you are welcome inform them about the event. This can be a great constituent service.
COMOM also offers great volunteer opportunities for those in your community that might be looking for a way to give back. Many community groups like the girl scouts, rotary club, church groups and more have been involved with past COMOMs. For more information, visit the volunteer information page.
